The Fierce Nonviolence Pilgrimage

A Journey of the Heart through the Pacific Northwest

An immersion program for young adults exploring the spiritual roots and daily practices of nonviolent social change– where the inner work of the soul fuels the outer work of justice, in the lineage of Jesus of Nazareth, Mahatma Gandhi, and Martin Luther King, Jr.

2025 Pilgrimage

This year, on the 80th anniversary of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima, the pilgrimage will focus on people and places in the Pacific Northwest impacted by the U.S. nuclear arsenal.

This will be a holistic experience focused on mind, body, and spirit.

Dates:
July 28 – August 7
(optional short pilgrimage: July 31 – August 7)

Nonviolence Training

How do we create the world we yearn for? What can the Beloved Community look like today? We will explore the strategies of nonviolent political organizing, while grounding those practices in daily rhythms of contemplation and reflection.

Testimonials

I’ve been highly influenced in my beliefs about nonviolence and the place of activism in social change. It’s been incredibly empowering to learn the techniques of nonviolent organizing and be surrounded by people putting them into action. -Rachel Gellman

Kingian Nonviolence gives me hope that nonviolent organizing work is a feasible political route for individuals to take in their careers. I hope to continue incorporating nonviolent resistance and principles in my education career, so that students can manifest the world they want to see without fists or arms. – Omar Rahim

Program Values

Integral Nonviolence
We understand nonviolence as a way of life as well as a means of effecting the change we want to see in the world. The program’s nonviolence training will be based on principles of nonviolence in the lineage of Martin Luther King, Jr.

Community
We will create in microcosm the inclusion, welcome, and relationship we want to see in the world. Participants will share daily life (including cooking/cleaning), small group reflections, and other activities.

Spirituality
We will ground our time together in both shared and individual spiritual practice. We welcome people of all faiths and of no faith, and ask that you be open to spiritual practices from a variety of faith traditions.
